1991 PRS Harmonic Generator HG-70 70 Watt Head - Rare s/n 61
These were $1,600 new in 1991, due to the extensive R&D that went into them. Very few were made – less than 200. The serial number on this one is 61. It didn’t fly, since the iron curtain fell soon after its launch at Winter Namm 1990, and vacuum tubes became readily available. Very solid – built like a tank. Everything works. One of the best features is the noise gate of the lead channel. It has an adjustable threshold level. A very cool feature when you use alot of gain, and this amp has TONS! The reverb sounds lush – not harsh. You can get a fair amount of gain from the ‘Clean’ channel if you dial it in. The EQ controls are VERY responsive. Also has an illuminated front panel, as you can see in the pictures. Comes with 2-button footswitch for channel switching and reverb on/off. The tones from the line out on the back are superb, straight into your ADA converters. The tolex is in good shape where it counts, as you can see in the pictures, but the bottom of the head has some fraying bits. I can take a picture of the bottom if it concerns you. Will be well-packed.
