2000 PRS (Paul Reed Smith) Bass EB-4 *Mint *Birds (NR)
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION for a beautiful 2000 PRS (Paul Reed Smith) 4 string electric bass. The bass is in mint condition . . . in fact, this bass looks as good as some new basses you’d find hanging in a music store. The sale includes the bass, a hardshell case (with a lock and keys), the original PRS hang tag, and a truss rod tool.
The color is a metallic Platinum. The body wood is Alder, and the neck is quarter-sawn Hard Rock Maple. It has a Rosewood fretboard with bird inlay markers, which is an upgrade over the standard dot markers.
PRS is known for making very high quality and great sounding guitars and basses, and this bass is no exception. Truly an outstanding instrument, the PRS Electric Bass has proven that Paul Reed Smith can indeed repeat the magic found in his guitars, in a bass guitar! Anyone familiar with the PRS guitars will know that for live music and for recording, this bass guitar will pass the competition in a heartbeat.
The high level of workmanship and materials is evident everywhere on the bass from the body wood, neck wood, tuners, pickups, bridge, fretwork and overall superior construction. It is very light, easy to play and has relatively low action. The individual volume and master tone controls are optimally placed and traditionally uncomplicated.
THE SOUND
The tone can best be described as fat and clear. It is very resonant with a woody quality to the tone. The preamp is expertly voiced and hand-wired. PRS designed and developed their own high inductance pickups for this bass. Because of the wide "blade" design, string balance is even. The blade and the bobbin follow the radius of the fingerboard. There is also a comfortable thumb rest built into the rounded ends of the bobbin. Their massive, solid brass bridge is also a PRS design and provides enough mass to produce rich harmonics, solid tone, perfect intonation and sustain to the 34" scale.

THE BOTTOM LINE
PRS doesn’t make basses any more, so there aren’t many of these around. The retail price for this bass back in 2000, was $2,259.99 (so you can just imagine what a new one would sell for today if they still made basses). If you’re looking for a great looking, great sounding high-end bass at a down to earth price, this bass is for you. You won’t be disappointed in either the quality of construction that you’ll see, or the clarity and low end thump you’ll hear.
Don’t pass up your chance to own this unique and rare instrument.
Bidding starts at $999 and there is NO RESERVE PRICE, which means two things:
(1) You are bidding to win. No guessing at a reserve price . . . the high bid wins.
(2) Once a bid is placed, the BUY IT NOW option will disappear. That’s just how Ebay works. So if you want to own this unique and rare instrument, you’d better hit that BUY IT NOW button right now.
Thanks for looking. Good luck and Happy Bidding.
