Paul Reed Smith Guitars

This started off life as a sunburst 2005 PRS McCarty. When I purchased
it, there was just the neck and body, pickup rings, the pots, jack,
pickup selector and the knobs. There was also considerable fretwear.
The tuners, nut, pickups, trem, and strap buttons were missing, and the
finish was beat to hell.

Work that's been done:

Neck profile re-contoured from wide fat to wide thin

During the reprofiling of the neck, the bulky heel was reduced to a more manageable pre-1995 heel size

Refinished black. This is a one piece mahogany body with no maple top,
so no natural binding. Also a bit of the old finish shows through in
strong light where it was sanded back for the logo and serial number.  I had to angle the camera just so to get it to show up in the pic
First generation PRS winged locking tuners installed

Earvana nut

Refret with #6100 stainless steel fretwire

Duncan Custom Custom and Pearly Gates pickups installed

Control cavity shielded with copper foil. The original shielding paint was a bit anemic

Volume pot replaced at it was non functional

Push-pull tone knob is currently disengaged as I don't use them

MannMade PRS "NOS" one piece cast vibrato bridge

Recessed schaller straplocks

Aftermarket truss rod cover

Tremolo cavity backplate made from some leftover b/w/b pickguard material.

This is definitely a player's PRS, and not a collector's item. It would
be an excellent choice for someone wanting to set up from an import, or
as the gigging guitar while the high-end PRS stays at home. It has
been gigged and has the normal wear, the most noticeable included in the pic. Also included is an aftermarket gator case.  You may contact me to request additional pics.
