For sale is an American made PRS Custom 24 10-top in Black Gold finish and a Pattern Regular neck. It is in mint condition, barely played.
You are basically getting a new guitar minus a few hundred bucks. The finish is black gold which is browner than what you see in the pictures. The flash from the camera gives it more of a sunburst look but there isn't a lot of red or orange in the actual color. It's not really "burst-ish" either. I suggest looking up the color on the PRS website for a better idea. Like I mentioned this is a 10-top which is about $445 extra. (The regular Custom 24 guitars
have a street value of $2610 while the 10-tops are $3055.)
PRS has this to say about 10-tops:
"A very small percent of the maple trees cut in North America are actually figured. To make "10-Top" status, a PRS top must
have clearly defined figure across its entire top with no "dead" spots. A guitar designated as a 10-Top will usually have a
small "10" written on the back of the headstock in the upper right corner. Some of our earlier guitars have the "10"
stamped into the finish in the same position."
The guitar is in immaculate shape. Not a mark on it. Using feel gauges, the relief on the neck is excellent as is; about
.009" inch on the bass side and .012" on the treble side. The action is a little lower than 5/64ths at the 12th fret. All within PRS
Spec. The trem on the guitar is also setup accordingly as pulled back all the way, the low E string bends up to F#
perfectly. The case and all case candy is included with the guitar. Frets are nice and polished. Electronics work as
they should.
