Up for auction is a 2002 Paul Reed Smith (made in the USA) Custom 24 guitar. This guitar is emerald green and has a "10" flamed maple top that is absolutely gorgeous. It has 24 frets and the wide-fat PRS neck profile. It's fast and screams tone!! It has the bite and power of a Les Paul when in the humbucker positions, but also the glassy articulate tone of a Strat when the coils are split with the selector switch. The five way selector switch really gives you a lot of tonal options, and all of the combinations cancel hum for a very quiet guitar. The action is low with no buzz at all. The guitar was recently set up and the intonation is perfect. The neck really shreds. This is a very versatile guitar and is also the flagship of PRS. This is what they started making in 1985!! The guitar has some road wear and as you can see, I was going to refinish the back because of some bad buckle rash. I haven't done it yet so will only be trying to sell this for much less than this would retail for if it was finished. It's been sanded down and is actually ready to be painted if you so desired. I haven't bothered since it doesn't affect the playability. The guitar is a real killer and can be finished very easily at home with some cans of finish lacquer-I just haven't had time to do the project. The guitar has had no repairs (no neck cracks or anything) and the original pickup are still in it, uncovered. The bridge is a HFS (Hot, Fat, and Screaming) and the neck is a PRS Vintage Bass. They sound incredible. The guitar is mahogany with a maple top, mahogany neck. It's got some wear, but nothing unusual for a guitar that is 9 years old and nothing takes away from the awesome tone of the guitar. It polishes up really nicely and has an awesome patina glow that you can see from the pictures. The guitar has the "birds in flight" inlays. This is one of the most sought after guitars of today! 25 inch scale. Rosewood fretboard. Flamed maple binding (gorgeous). Guitar weights in at 7.5 pounds. Take it off my hands for a great price!!! This guitar was $3200 new and listed for even more than that. Comes with original case. Pots, pickups, tuners, caps, switches, no issues and all original.
