Paul Reed Smith Archtop II

It all started when Joe Knaggs, our Private Stock luthier, went to Paul Smith and said, "Paul, I want to build an Archtop". After a lot of discussion it was agreed, and the instrument he produced was a beautiful violin carved instrument front and back, with no bracing and a sound post. The tone of the instrument, its playability and peoples' reactions were so outstanding we decided to put it into production.

The Archtop ll has a curly maple front and back, carved inside and out using CNC machinery. It has a natural tone and volume unheard of for its compact size. As Paul himself says, "I have never seen the release of an instrument cause such excitement. This guitar crosses all musical boundaries". The finish here is our beautiful new Amber.
