"My friend Michael Reid gave me nine solid Rosewood neck blanks for a present. I immediately built a guitar from the first blank for myself. What a great guitar. I take it everywhere. It sounds huge. We also had an elegant design for a tree of Life inlay. We decided to put the two ideas together: the Tree of Life for beauty and the Rosewood neck for tone. The Tree of Life inlay is composed of Mammoth Ivory, Brown Lip Mother of Pearl, Abalone, Paua, Mother of Pearl, Coral and Gold. The delicate and finely etched design climbs up the fretboard and continues on to the truss rod cover and headstock. Flowers at each of the fret markers let you know exactly where you are on the fingerboard. The twelfth fret double flower is set with gold centers. The fingerboards are from my private stock. We selected one hundred very dark and rare Brazillian Rosewood boards to hold this exquisite inlay."
The PRS Rosewood Ltd. features a 22 fret rare East Indian Rosewood neck, a Brazillian Rosewood fretboard and a beautiful Curly Maple top matched with our best Mahogany backs. This instrument has a McCarty tm style body and McCarty tm electronics. Gold hardware, a hardshell leather case and a Certificate of Authenticity are also included.
