Greetings eBay guitarists!  Up for auction is a new-old stock, in box, Paul Reed Smith NF3 in Frost Blue Metallic finish with Maple neck and fingerboard.  The guitar is mint with the exception of the match-head sized depression on the back (pictured) and a neck pocked finish crack (pictured) which seems to be indicative of this models early run.   Hard case is included and dead mint.  Ships in the original PRS shipping box.  All case candy and hanging tag is included.  As you can see, the stock nut was professionally replaced with unbleached bone by Philtone Guitar Co. in Baltimore, MD.  The stock nut did bind quite a bit causing tuning issues.  As with all Philtone mods, this is basically indiscernible from a stock installation.  Plays in tune and has superior tone to the factory nut.  These babies are regularly just under $2,000 on the shelf.  Buy this one and save!   Specifics on this model are listed below direct from PRS.  Please feel free to email with any and all questions.  I accept and prefer paypal which is due promptly!  Local pickup is available, however sales tax will apply for pick-up and in-state shipping.  Buyer pays $25 fully insured and originally packed shipping direct to your door anywhere in the lower 48 US states.  I will not ship outside this area.  No international shipping.  Good luck and happy bidding!

A versatile modern classic with a new finish, neck shape, and tremolo.

Named after its versatile pickup configuration (3 pickups paired with a 5-way blade switch), the NF3 utilizes the modern pickup technology of PRS Narrowfield pickups. Narrowfields use the same wire as PRS' coveted 57/08 pickups, but are narrower pole to pole and deeper front to back. The result is a new-sounding pickup system with exceptional clarity. Paired with a "pattern regular" bolt-on neck and flat body design, the NF3 is a modern classic. 

The NF3 incorporates the following new features: 

V12 Finish 
Finish should enhance the look, sound, and feel of a guitar by accentuating the wood's inherent beauty and feel without hindering its natural resonance. And PRS Guitars' new "V12" finish does just that. Introduced at Experience PRS 2010, "V12" is a very thin, hard, and clear finish that will not crack or react with thinners. After roughly 12 years in development, it is halfway between acrylic and nitro but with a classic feel all its own. "PRS models with this new finish feel like old instruments," said Paul Reed Smith. 

Pattern Regular Neck Shape 
Neck shapes have always been a high priority for PRS and a hallmark of their quality. A guitar should feel comfortable, like "home," as soon as you pick it up, and the neck is paramount to that connection. The new "Pattern Regular" neck shape is similar to the traditional PRS regular neck found on guitars made in the late '80s at PRS' former Virginia Avenue location. 

This new neck shape reflects modern tooling and programming that allows PRS to even more preciously shape and consistently reproduce their necks. 

PRS Tremolo with Steel Components 
The bridge plays a crucial role in the tone of a guitar by transferring the string's vibrations to the tonewood. When executed well, the bridge will enhance the wood's natural resonance. The PRS Tremolo with steel components offers a clear, expansive tone that sounds especially pleasing in guitars with single-coils.
