Paul Reed Smith USA CE 24 Guitar, Blue Mateo, Natual Back, McCarty Switching.

Up for auction, a blue mateo flamed maple top 2003 PRS CE 24.   The guitar is in very good condition but it has some flaws:  (apologies to watchers of the previous listing, but I prefer the description to be very accurate).  I have also lowered the price for a quick sale.

• There is the 1/4" (6mm) ding on the upper arch on the BACK of the guitar.


• There are three more scuffs just above the strap button, also on the back. 


• There are some hard to find marks where the neck meets the headstock from the wall hanger used by the previous owner. (I used special non-marking material on my hangers).


• There is also some buckle rash on the tremelo cover on the back. Amount is normal for this guitar and is confined to the tremelo cover.


• One last thing. There are some small dings on the front around the edge of the recessed 3-way switch. It appears to me that the installer of the McCarty switching had a bit of trouble getting the knob off the switch. They are small and I almost forgot about them.  Other than this the front of the guitar is in great shape.
  

Other than that the guitar has only very minor pick scratching. The neck is also excellent with no dings and little fret wear. The headstock is in great shape.

Playability is typical PRS with low, low action and a smooth fast neck.  The pickups can sing or scream and the 6 sound McCarty switching covers most of the sounds you'll need.  Tuners are locking chrome and work perfectly and the guitar holds tune very well.  The tremelo is perfect and intonation is set.  She is setup to PRS specs with 9's and is ready to play.   

This is truly an excellent guitar.  The playability is amazing with access to all 24 frets.  I have 4 USA PRS guitars and have found that I really prefer the 22 fret models.  So I am in the market for a CE 22 and will let this outstanding guitar go to a good home.  If this guitar had the shorter neck, it would be staying with me for a very long time.

CLASSIC ELECTRIC (CE BOLT-ON): 1988 - Current. 24-fret maple neck, unfaced headstock, dot inlays, alder body, PRS Vintage pickups, tone control, and 3-way toggle selector. Rosewood fretboard, wide-thin neck options by ’89. Black headstock face and 5-way rotary switch by mid-’89. HFS Treble/Vintage Bass finalized by ’91. Maple top version- the CE Bolt-on Maple Top- added in ’89. Mahogany body/ back from ’95 as well as stop-tail option. Solid Mahogany body discontinued in 2000, stop tailpiece & regular neck profile discontinued in 2001. Offered as wide thin, tremolo only from 2001.

The guitar will ship by UPS ground, fully insured in its case and a sturdy box so it arrives safely at the buyer's location.
