1998 PRS Standard 22 Semi-Hollow w/ trem and CHARLIE CHRISTIAN PICKUPS
1998 PRS Standard with the Semi-Hollow (Chambered) option that is no longer available. This is NOT the same as the hollow body PRS model. It’s like a Private Stock at a non Private Stock price.
This guitar is fairly rare to begin with, having the chamber and trem options. I commissioned Ron Thorn to make some flamed Koa tuner tips, trem tip and tone/volume knobs years ago. I also commissioned the legendary Dom Ramos to build a set of Humbucker size Charlie Christian pickups…great for Jazz, and can get that angry off-P-90 sound as well. These rare pickups were also very expensive. In the bridge I opted for a Duncan Blues Saraceno Trembucker and it suits the guitar perfectly. Pickup installation was done by world-renown guitar tech Norio Imai in NYC, and is flawless.
The guitar is fairly light and sounds super “airy” especially with the trem. Can cover pretty much any type of music you throw at it- Rock, Jazz, Blues and it never fails to cut through the mix. Original Hardshell case.
GUITAR IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH NO BREAKS OR REPAIRS, AND IS A FANTASTIC PLAYER.
